Ho Ho... Holiday...
Is it just me or are most people at the malls and shops less cheerful this year?
I don't know about you all, but I've made the decision to do most of my holiday shopping online if at all possible. I went to the mall last weekend out of necessity (I needed to get my rings resized). I just noticed that it seemed like everyone was kind of stressed-out looking and crabby this year - even the salespeople. It could just be me projecting my own mildly stressed-out mood on others, but would it kill some of these people to at least pretend to be happy? I'm happy most of the time, but if I'm stressed out I at least attempt to put a good face on it. No point in taking it out on other people who at least might respond to a joke or a smile :)
Just a thought anyways. For all that's worth.
Ok, all that aside, I do have one little rant to post.
As a side note to all the losers out there who sit in their cars stalking people coming out of the mall for a close-up parking spot, don't bother following me. I will make 3 cell phone calls and do my make up again prior to getting out of the car and walking back inside if I notice that you have made the mistake of following me to my parking spot. But I'm normally that way, not just for the holidays :) Drive to the end of the lot and walk your lazy ass inside like the rest of us. I could understand if you were old and unable to walk too far, but in that case I would expect you to have a handicap sticker. Otherwise I think that it's safe to expect that when you go shopping during the holidays, you will need to park at the farthest end of the lot and walk the whole way in.
Okay, I'm done now. Time to go wrap a present or two and hit the hay.

No, you're not projecting. People really are more crabby this year. And I'm the same way. If I'm helping people, I at least try to put on a good face, even if I'm not that happy. Case in point was the guys who delivered our fridge. I sensed quite a bit of crabbiness on their part. Probably cause they came at 3pm to deliver it, but we didn't answer the door (they didn't knock loud enough or even think to use the doorbell). So they had to drive all the way back to our house at after 6pm. But that was their fault for not using the doorbell in the first place!
And you're right. I think people should walk their asses the whole way into the store. Personally, I don't like waiting for people to get out of a close-up spot cause I'm too impatient. I'm happy to find the first spot, park and just walk.
