Caffeine Addict

This summer FLEW by. Honestly, so much happened since I last posted here that even my somewhat irregular blog entries seriously had to fall by the wayside. Since the last post on March 31st (Our trip to Florida) here's what's gone on in my life (and Ryan's):
1. Sold the old house in Brighton.
2. Bought new house in Hartland (after a LONG, difficult search - sometime I will write an extended blog entry on house hunting & what we learned along the way.)
3. Moved.
4. Left Cerner (another long story. Ick.)
5. Unemployment / job search of 3 months. (Looking for a new job is really a full-time job of its own. Ask anyone that's been unemployed in the last few months and they'll tell you how much the job market really sucked this summer.)
6. Ryan's sister Kristine got married back in May. Outside. In Michigan. Luckily, the weather stayed perfect until we were all at the indoor reception. Hooray!!
7. Jessica & Brian had their baby, Derek, back in June. I only list this since we hang out with them 1-2 times a week, so it was really a big event for everyone since we were all so excited to meet the little being that had been kicking Jessica around for 9 months!
8. All the usual summer stuff that everybody runs around doing. Barbeques, swimming, boating - all the stuff that you try to do as much of as possible during a short Michigan summer.
9. A couple of trips up north to see Mom & Dad before snow flies. 8 hours in a car each way. Makes my butt hurt just thinking about it.
10. Learned to live on a tighter budget. Leaving Cerner right after we bought a house might not have been the best idea financially that I've ever had, but you know, I'm certainly happier not being on the road all the time. Again, I could write a small novel regarding this subject, but maybe some other time.
11. Finally found a new job. Been working at a company called PHNS in Flint for a few weeks now and it's been really interesting - lots to learn. Like I said before, I'm much happier now :)

So that's the short list of why I've neglected my blog so long. Now everyone I know has one, so I figured why not drag my old one out and dust it off. Maybe I'll even put some effort into upgrading it. Maaaaaaaybe.
